HAZLETON, Pa. (AP) — Police officers and firefighters responding to a fire in downtown Hazleton rescued two babies from a third-floor window, carrying them down a ladder to safety.
The Standard-Speaker of Hazleton says the blaze started late Friday morning at Prestigio Restaurant.
The paper says one man lowered himself from a second-story window as smoke billowed from a kitchen vent.
Another man was wearing only a towel when he escaped.
OSCEOLA MILLS -- Clearfield District Attorney Bill Shaw said the suspect in a double homicide in Clearfield County has been found dead.
Shaw said the body of 26-year-old Cody Bush was found near Route 53 in Ashland. Shaw said it appeared he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Bill Shaw said state police were called to a home on Curtin Street in Osceola Mills Friday morning for a domestic incident involving gunshots.
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. (AP) -- Over 2,500 inmates at an 89-year-old Pennsylvania prison are being transferred to a new, long-delayed facility about a mile down the road.
The Department of Corrections says the first phase of transfers began just after 9 a.m. Wednesday from the state prison at Graterford to the sprawling, $400 million complex at SCI Phoenix.
Several hundred inmates will be moved each day by bus, for however long it takes to complete the operation.
ALTOONA -- The James E. Van Vandt Veterans Affairs Medical Center will launch a new call center Thursday morning for veterans to call and talk to a live operator rather than a series of recordings.
The medical center's staff said, up until the launch, vets would call to schedule an appointment or talk to a doctor but couldn't get through, or they'd get frustrated and hang up.

NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa. -- A Cambria County woman, her boyfriend and her brother have been arrested and charged with endangering her three young children. Police said the children, ages 10 and 5, were hit repeatedly, locked in closets and forced to relieve themselves on the floor.
Jenna Mulhern, her boyfriend, Matthew D'auria, and her brother, Derek Parenti, are in jail facing several felony charges, accused of endangering Mulhern's two young children.
COLVER, Pa. (WJAC) — The Colver Power Project in Cambria County, which had been shuttered this past May, has been sold and will bring back 70 full-time jobs, according to a release from Robindale Energy.
Colver Green Energy LLC, a generation company formed by the owners of Robindale will take over operation of the facility, which provides electricity for 130,000 people. Colver Power Project began operation in 1995 until it was retired in May.
JOHNSTOWN -- A new partnership is set to give more people with disabilities direct access to job training. The commonwealth is partnering with CVS Health to have a mock store training setup at the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Johnstown.
Students will be able to take part in a six-week program, training them to be cashiers and pre-pharmacy technicians.

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — A former Altoona pharmacist is facing several charges after authorities say he stole numerous medications from six different pharmacies, then diluted them with water to cover his tracks.
According to the attorney general's office, 28-year-old Colt Edwards was working as a floating pharmacist for several Martin's/Giant pharmacies throughout central Pennsylvania.
Authorities say they were notified by the grocery chain after management observed Edwards on surveillance video stealing groceries from its E Chestnut Avenue location.
BELLEFONTE – The 30th Annual Historic Bellefonte Cruise continued Saturday in Centre County.
Hundreds of people crowded the streets downtown to see the historic cars and motorcycles.
"I look for the older cars. I like Corvettes," resident Fred Zanghi said.
From Corvettes to motorcycles, antiques and even kids' cars, the Bellefonte cruise has almost every car imaginable.
