Community effort brings lost dog Milo home after 17 days

Cambria County couple Chad and Paula Albert’s dog Milo was hit by a car in Westmont on April 26th and has been missing ever since. But after 17 days of not knowing where Milo was, he’s finally back home thanks to the help of women like Debra Noble. She’s been working as an animal rescue volunteer in the Johnstown area for years. She says she was able to track sightings of Milo reported by community members.

Huntingdon County Fair underway

PennDOT announces limited reopening of license, photo centers in 'Yellow Phase' counties

HARRISBURG, Pa (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Saturday that it will begin the limited reopening of some license and photo centers in counties that have moved into the "Yellow Phase." Locally, 3 driver license centers will begin opening on Saturday, and one additional photo center will open on Monday. Clearfield Driver and Photo License Center: Clearfield Mall, 1800 Daisy Street. 32 arrested in statewide meth operation between Philadelphia, Blair counties

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Attorney General Josh Shapiro says a year-long investigation has resulted in the arrests of 32 people and the largest ever seizure of meth destined for Blair County. Shapiro, joined by Blair County District Attorney Rich Consiglio and Altoona Police Department Chief Janice Freehling, made the announcement Thursday in a press conference held at the Blair County Courthouse. Shapiro says wiretapping and a year-long grand jury investigation into a meth trafficking operation between Philadelphia and Blair counties led to the arrests of 17 people including Philadelphia’s sources of meth and Blair County’s upper and mid-level dealers.

New "Christine's Law" further regulates removing snow and ice from vehicles

Governor Wolf recently signed into law Act 90 of 2022 which in part amends Title 75 to implement “Christine’s Law” which further regulates the removal of snow and ice from vehicles. Championed by Senator Lisa Boscola, “Christine’s Law” seeks to prevent tragedies like the death of Christine Lambert of Palmer Township who was killed on Christmas Day 2005, by a large piece of ice which crashed through her windshield after dislodging from a passing box truck.

Teen firefighter charged for starting multiple brush fires in Huntingdon Co.

Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — Officials with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Bureau of Forestry have filed charges against a Huntingdon County teenager after he was accused of setting a series of brush fires earlier this year. Authorities say Adam Ewing, 18, of Three Springs, is a member of the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company. Investigators say Ewing is alleged to have started a series of fires in the county in February and March, including one that injured three volunteer firefighters.

Westmont Hilltop holds auction at old elementary school building

WESTMONT, Pa. (WJAC) — The Westmont Hilltop School District held an auction Friday morning at the old elementary school building. Superintendent Tom Mitchell says the purpose was to clear out the building and get rid of the items that aren't needed. This included chairs, desks, mowers and kitchen equipment. He says the building has been functioning at its minimum while the school district completed the transition to its current building.
