Police say Lawrence Kozak has been charged with theft and other related crimes. Coroner IDs man killed in fatal motorcycle crash in Cherry Tree

UPDATE | Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman has identified the victim of Sunday's fatal motorcycle crash in Cherry Tree Borough. Officials say 39-year-old William Roland Jr., of Westover, was killed Sunday night after crashing his motorcycle near the Indiana and Clearfield county line. Investigators say Roland was ejected from the motorcycle after striking a utility pole. Overman says that he suffered blunt force trauma to his chest and his death was ruled accidental.

Officer's vest likely saved his life in deadly shootout with Amazon suspect

MADISON COUNTY, Ohio (WSYX) — A man suspected of leaving the scene after firing multiple gunshots at an Amazon fulfillment center Sunday died following a confrontation with Columbus police a short time later. The Amazon shooting happened at the facility in the 6400 block of State Route 29 Northeast in West Jefferson at about 4:45 p.m. By the time officers from multiple agencies had arrived, the man, an employee at that facility, had left and was at large.

Break leaves residents with little to no water in Clearfield County

WINBURNE - A water main break in Clearfield County has left thousands of customers with little to no water. Secretary Sapphire Burnisky with the Cooper Township Municipal Authority said the break took place in Munson around Christmas, when the temperatures started to drop. Burnisky said crews have yet to locate the break. "It's been very stressful," Burnisky said. "The guys have lost a lot of sleep. They're just worried about not having water for these customers and now that we've hit that point, it's been very chaotic.

Community Arts Center of Cambria County puts on outdoor play

Death penalty to be sought in officer's slaying

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Prosecutors have announced plans to seek the death penalty in the slaying of an off-duty Pittsburgh police officer shot to death in a street confrontation last month. The Allegheny County district attorney's office informed the court Monday of intent to seek capital punishment should 30-year-old Christian Bey be convicted of first-degree murder. Prosecutors also unsealed the homicide and firearms crimes criminal complaint against Bey in the July 14 shooting of 36-year-old Officer Calvin Hall during a street dispute in the Homewood neighborhood as a party was going on.
