INDIANAPOLIS (TND) — Indianapolis Star columnist Gregg Doyel issued an apology Wednesday after his “creepy” interaction with new Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark went viral on social media. Clark became one of the biggest figures in women’s sports following her star-studded basketball career for the University of Iowa. She was recently drafted first overall in the WNBA draft by the Indian Fever. Man charged with burglary, raping woman at Altoona Motel 6

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Police arrested a man they said forced his way into a woman's hotel room and repeatedly raped her for 6 1/2 hours. According to Logan Township police, 51-year-old Kevin Thompkins assaulted the victim sexually and physically at a Motel 6 along Sterling Street from 11 p.m. Friday until 5:30 a.m. Saturday. In a criminal complaint, the victim told police she and Thompkins had been on-and-off friends for about a year.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian forces unleashed a nighttime barrage of more than 50 cruise missiles and explosive drones at Ukraine's power grid Wednesday, targeting a wide area in what President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called a "massive" attack. The bombardment blasted targets in seven Ukrainian regions, including the Kyiv area and parts of the south and west, damaging homes and the country's rail network, authorities said. Three people, including an 8-year-old girl, were injured, according to officials.

JOHNSTOWN — Monday, April 6, marks 50 years since the passing of basketball standout Maurice Stokes. He is one of the best basketball players to ever go through the St. Francis program. Stokes holds the Red Flash record for most rebounds in a career. He is credited with 1,819 rebounds, but surely recorded more than that amount. Rebounds didn't become an official statistic until Stokes' sophomore season of college. And, he is the program's second all-time leading scorer with 2,282 points.

'Heartbroken' officials announce death of baby elephant Tsuni who lived in Somerset County

The Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium announced Thursday that it's two-year-old elephant calf, Tsuni, has passed away after a sudden and brief battle with elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus (EEHV), according to a press release. In a statement, the zoo stated that EEHV in Tsuni, who resided at the International Conservation Center in Fairhope with her herd, was detected through routine blood tests February 8, although the calf displayed no visible clinical signs.
