Annual Fourth Fest returns with full schedule of events

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — In State College, the Fourth of July was once again marked by the return of the Central PA Fourth Fest. This year's event is different than years past but is still "much more" than just the largest fireworks show in Pennsylvania. Set up work began early Tuesday morning on the Penn State campus and was the beginning of a new day and a new era for the annual celebration.

Clearfield County SPCA assisting with animals police said were sexually abused

MUNSON - Officials in Clearfield County are working to find shelters for several animals police said were victims of abuse. State police filed charges Saturday against three Munson men for having sexual intercourse with animals at a makeshift farm on Mouse Lane. Terry Wallace, 41, Matthew Brubaker, 32, and Marc Measnikoff, 34, have been charged with endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, 1460 counts of sexual intercourse with animals and 1460 counts of cruelty to animals.

Fundraiser to be held for deceased Clearfield County man

CLEARFIELD - A skating event will take place this weekend to help the family of a Clearfield County man who was recently found dead. The benefit is to help defer costs for the family of Chase Anderson, 19, of Curwensville. It will take place Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Skate Station on South Second Street in Clearfield. State College fire company makes history with first all-female attack line response

Three firefighters from Alpha fire company in State College responded to a fire call in College Township last Thursday. What sounds like normal procedure turned into history as all three firefighters in the attack line were women. One of the firefighters Talia Chaloch said they have been seeing more women in each class that comes in. Chaloch told 6 News how every firefighter at Alpha is treated the same way.

Disney World's newest attraction gets official opening date

ORLANDO, Fla. (WKRC) - The highly anticipated re-themed attraction, formerly Splash Mountain, will open this summer. Disney World's iconic log flume ride, Splash Mountain, closed down on May 30, 2023 to undergo a theme change following controversy surrounding the ride's original inspiration, Song of the South. Disney announced it would be replacing the antiquated animatronics and other visual elements with characters from The Princess and the Frog, the 2009 animated film following Tiana and her amphibious Prince Naveen.

UPDATE | Pennsylvania State Police announced on X, formally known as Twitter, that Berkheimer was located and is safe. ORIGINAL | State police in Blair County are searching for a man after he went missing Saturday afternoon, a press release states. According to state police, Donald Berkheimer, 92, was last seen in the area of West Loop Road in Hollidaysburg Saturday around noon.
