CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — State Police have issued a release on a fatal crash which occurred Saturday in Patton Township shortly before 2am.
According to the release, the crash occurred on Interstate 99 North in the area of mile marker 72.
Police say the driver, 22-year-old Jordan Henry, failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, strike an embankment, overturn multiple times, and come to a rest on its roof off the roadway.
PITTSBURGH (CNN) — A Pennsylvania woman is being praised for helping rescue an animal in need, but wildlife experts can't quite figure out what the critter actually is.

“I wasn't quite sure but its behavior, it was scared, and it was cold and all I could think about was this animal needed help,” says Christina Eyth.

POTEET, Texas (WOAI/KABB) — Police in Texas removed over 30 malnourished dogs Wednesday from a property just north of Poteet.
The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office hosted a news conference at the property where several dogs were visibly chained in place, living amongst trash.
Atascosa County Sheriff Henry Dominguez said that after a report of animal abuse at the property, officers investigated the property and obtained a warrant to seize the dogs.
One Pennsylvania lawmaker has proposed new legislation that would end the Sunday hunting ban in the state.
According to a memo sponsored by Rep. Mandy Steele (D-Allegheny County), the legislation would repeal the state's prohibition on Sunday hunting and would give the Game Commission the authority to "decide when and how Sunday hunting is permitted."

SANTAQUIN, Utah (KUTV) — The man accused of fatally striking a Santaquin police officer with a semi-truck and fleeing the scene has been previously convicted of attempting the same thing in Oregon, according to court documents.
Officials reported that on March 26, 2009, Michael Aaron Jayne attempted to kill an Oregon State Police officer on State Highway 66 by trying to run him over with his vehicle.
Jayne was convicted in 2010 for attempted assault in the first degree and possessing body armor as a felon — he was allegedly wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the incident.
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Prosecutors say they plan to seek the death penalty if they win a first-degree murder conviction against a man charged in last month’s shooting death of one police officer and the wounding of another in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
Johnathan Jermia Morris, 31, of McKeesport is charged in Allegheny County with criminal homicide, attempted homicide and assaulting a law enforcement officer, as well as firearms crimes in the Feb. 6 shootings about 12 miles (20 kilometers) south of Pittsburgh.
