ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — A Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain is putting Bitcoin ATMs in six shops around the state and one in North Carolina, giving customers the ability to buy and sell the cryptocurrency with U.S. dollars.
Sheetz, based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, announced Tuesday it has teamed up with Coinsource to put the ATMs in the five Pennsylvania stores and a shop in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Ryan Sheetz, a vice president at the company, says the chain is always trying to be innovative and give customers what they want.
Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Bedford County announced mid-day Friday that Leslie Childers-Potts has resigned from her position as the Bedford County District Attorney.
According to court documents, President Judge Travis Livengood has appointed Dwight Diehl, who formerly served as the county's lead prosecutor, to replace her as the DA's office does not have any assistant District Attorneys on staff.
The Bedford County DA's office has faced scrutiny in recent months following multiple mistrials.
ALTOONA -- Dr. Rebecca Delbaggio turned herself in Tuesday morning after the State Attorney General's Office alleged that she wrote illegal prescriptions for her boyfriend, who was not her patient.
She faces 14 felony drug counts and one count of conspiracy as well as dozens of misdemeanor charges.
Delbaggio was a pediatrician at UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics in Hollidaysburg, according to the criminal complaint.
Pittsburgh-based UPMC media relations manager Andrea Kunicky said that Delbaggio was first suspended, then ultimately terminated when the company discovered the illegal activity.

The incident happened on Saturday when members of the Havener family were outside in their yard in Monroe.
As seen on video, a giant cougar ran out of nearby woods and suddenly chased after the family's two cats. Immediately afterward, the cougar can be seen coming within feet of April Havener and her young daughter, along with their puppy.

WASHINGTON (TND) — Louisiana is close to becoming the first state to mandate the display of the Ten Commandments in schools and universities. If the governor signs the proposed bill into law, any publicly funded educational institution would be required to prominently display the Ten Commandments on a poster or framed document.
