CLEARFIELD COUNTY, PA — The Clearfield County Fair made it’s long-awaited return today after having to cancel in 2020.
The full complement of rides, food and fun were back once again.
The President of the fair, David Franson, says they’re excited to come back after a period of tough times.
“We’re so happy to be back and be able toput the fair on again this year,” he exclaimed. “It was a rough year for everybody, especially in the community, and we’re just glad to be back and be able to provide something fun for the community.
WASHINGTON (TND) — A 26-year-old Haitian man arrested for aggravated rape of a 15-year-old in a migrant shelter was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday, according to a release from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.
Cory Alvarez is charged with one count of aggravated rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and one count of rape of a child by force. He is currently being held without bail and will be arraigned in Plymouth County Superior Court later this year.
CLEARFIELD CO, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Lawrence Township Fire Department say no one was injured after a tractor trailer caught fire earlier Saturday in the parking lot of the Clearfield Sheetz, located along Clearfield/Shawville Highway.
The department says they were dispatched around 11:20 a.m. for a reported vehicle fire near the gas pumps.
Officials say it took crews approximately one hour to extinguish the blaze.

CHAMPION – Seven Springs Mountain Resort plans to turn Black Friday into White Friday.
Friday is the day the Somerset County resort plans to open for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing.
According to a news release, the arrival of consistently cold temperatures allowed for extensive snowmaking Saturday through the first part of the week.
For opening weekend, Seven Springs ski and snowboard tickets are $58 per adult and $45 per child, ages 6-11.

HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN CO. — Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding, local dairy farmer Steve Harnish and other guests joined the American Dairy Association North East in unveiling the 2023 Pennsylvania Farm Show Butter Sculpture today.
The sculpture, a longstanding Farm Show tradition, is crafted from 1,000 pounds of butter donated by the Land O’Lakes plant in Carlisle, Pa.
The sculpture features multiple life sized figures, animals, and a giant scenic keystone.

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Johnstown police are investigating a morning fire at an abandoned building in the Hornerstown-section of the city as arson, according to Johnstown Fire Chief Bob Statler.
911 officials say crews were dispatched to the blaze, located along the 800 block of Horner Street, around 9:30 a.m.
Chief Statler says no injuries were reported in the fire and police have not named any suspects at this time.

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees has identified the victim of Friday night's fatal crash on Maple Avenue.
Lees said the victim is 53-year-old Joan Schellhammer of East Conemaugh Borough.
According to Lees, Schellhammer was walking towards Rocky's Tavern when she was struck by a 2001 Chevy Cavalier.
Lees said Schellhammer was transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center but was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m.
Her cause of death was determined as a traumatic head injury due to blunt force trauma and her death is being ruled as accidental, and a toxicology report is pending.
